Romantic Books in 10 books to read-
So I hope the fact that I am a romantic fiction lover is not hidden to anyone by now, so I will start off by romantic books! Romantic Books you must read!
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE BY JANE AUSTEN
Pride and prejudice is a romantic novel, published in 1813 .
It follows the love story of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy.
The Story consists of a family called the Bennet’s and Elizabeth Bennet is one of the 5 unmarried daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet.
The novel starts with the introduction of Mr. Charles Bingley who further introduces Mr. Darcy as they’re friends in the story. Elizabeth met Darcy for the first time at a Ball but the meeting doesn’t go well.
(Maybe either of them didn’t know how to leave a good first impression. But you don’t take a chance.)
On the other hand Charles Bingley was quite comfortable with Jane bennet (eldest sister of Elizabeth).
For Elizabeth pride is something important to her which gives a strong vibe to her character. Which make her a strong and confident character.
On the other hand we have Jane, who mostly gives attention to love in a marriage. All the sisters have a different take about it.
Now there is another character, Charlotte Lucas (Elizabeth’s friend) who thinks economic stability is more important than happiness in a marriage.
Now love stories can never be simple and without any ups and down.
So here we have the characters George Wickham and Lady Catherine De Bourg, the main antagonists in the novel who tried their best to separate Elizabeth and Darcy.
The characters have been described beautifully by the author; it actually feels like you know them personally.
Elizabeth’s character is strong and bold and has broken the stereotypical image of women of that time.
Also the Novel takes you back to the culture and lifestyle of the 19th central. But due to the book written in a proper old British accent it is difficult to understand. The language we use now is very different to the one that was used back in the 19th century. The book at some point can get a little extended or boring, but that’s different for different people.
Pride and Prejudice is one of the best books ever written in literature, it was so ahead of its time and this is why this should be one of the 10 books to read once in your lifetime!
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS BY JOHN GREEN
“The Fault in Our Stars“, this romantic YA book for teens is a story about a 16 year old, Hazel Grace Lancaster who suffered cancer for 3 years. She was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 14.
People thought that she will die but by a medical miracle she survived and now she was (forced by her parents to join a support group because they thought she was depressed) working with a cancer support group.
She meets our novel’s hero (or should I say our hero), 17 year old Augustus Waters who was a basketball player and also suffered cancer.
I’m on a roller coaster that only goes up.Gus
Slowly, steadily we see that what started in the form of a random conversation leads to casual flirting and then turned out to be eternal love.
We see how a relationship starts building between the two of them. Somehow this relationship evolves from a light hearted friendship to an emotional and mutual understanding of love, pain and sacrifice.
Hazel and Augustus embark on a roller coaster ride (which only goes up) of emotions, including love, sadness and romance, while searching for the author of Hazel’s favorite book.
But this Romantic YA book is not limited to just the romance or cancer. The book is written with such perfection that it is so so difficult do keep this book down once you pick it up.
The Fault in our stars is one of my favorite books ever. The books is a journey itself and one should definitely savor this journey to its fullest and this is why it should be in your list of 10 must read books just like in mine.
The Prophets by Robert Jones Jr.
The Prophets is a historical fiction and is based on Isaiah and Samuel. Both, deep in LOVE.
There’s just something about them that makes everyone happy. What ‘they‘ are is not confirmed yet but they sure know each other and love one another very well.
Isaiah and Samuel are two enslaved men on a plantation is Antebellum South. Like, a fairy tale?
But every fairy tale has its own demon, Isaiah and Samuel’s has theirs. A fellow planter wanted to gain favor and preached his poisonous master and now, the the eternal love of the both is no longer “love”.
The authenticity of the book is visible as to when you see its book cover. “LOVE” is not needed to be bound in genders as mentioned before.
YOU HAVE TO READ THIS GAY ROMANCE BOOK!
I favor love more than genders, and I don’t like how sometimes it is bound with genders, this is why here is a gay romance book in the list of 10 books you must read!
Sputnik Sweetheart By Haruki Murakami
This fiction work by Murakami was published in 1999 and later on it was translated to English by Philip Gabreil and published in 2001.
Sputnik Sweetheart, book by Haruki Murakami follows the life of 2 best friends K (yes only ‘k’. THE SPELLING IS NOT MISSING YOU GUYS!) and Sumire.
So K is a 25 years old primary school teacher who is in love will his best friend, Sumire who has no idea about this. They met for the first time back in their college days and because of their love for reading and writing they instantly clicked.
*I would love to connect with someone like that too. Let’s move to comments. Shall we?*
But later on Sumire drops out of college to persue her career as a full time writer but they keep in touch. So this is an unrequited love story.
As the story progresses we see Sumire falling in love with an older businesswoman, Miu.
We have broken feelings in this books, love, confusions, questions related to sexuality and trying to understand everything that’s going on.
But most importantly, we have realistic characters with a real life, meaning, you can actually expect that someone in this world maybe living the same life doing normal stuff they do.
But again as with other Haruki Murakami works, Sputnik Sweetheart lacks a clear, concise ending. It’s clearly up to the readers and they can end it however they want to! Jokes aside, books by Haruki Murakami will always leave you thinking more and more.

Indian Mythology Books In 10 Books You Must Read-
Indian Mythology is a must to read, not just because it has gods and stuff but also because there is so much more to learn. The one Mythology book I would ask you to read is The Palace Of Illusions.
The Palace Of Illusions By Chitra Banerjee Devakaruni
The novel was released in the year 2008 and is a new perception of the Indian epic Mahabharata. The change in the view is not quite normal, the novel is written from the point of perception of Draupadi aka Paanchaali- who is living in a patriarchal world.
Well, in that sense woman living in this world is a Draupadi.
If I were to decide, the book deserves an award that hasn’t been given to anyone else yet.
