The Time has Come! TWITTER DOWN? COME ON 2020 SHOW SOME MERCY!

Post by Nikita Prajapati

“2020 was definitely going to be my year BUT… There’s this TWITTER DOWN now!”

Yeah people yeah. I know these were your exact thoughts as well! With all this world wide pandemic, forest fires, protests and several other MAJOR issues, Twitter has come up with it’s own!

Twitter support

It wasn’t long before when more than 130 twitter accounts including Elon Musk’s , Barack Obama and Bill Gates’s TWITTER ACCOUNTS were hacked in a bitcoin scam! Now, we do have twitter not working at all and #twitterdown trending there on twitter!

Why is Twitter Not Working?

Some suggest that it would be because of protest in Nigeria while Twitter itself says and tells the business insiders that it was due to some internal problems in their servers and they’re working on it.

Twitter said in a tweet Thursday that it “had some trouble with our internal systems” and is “working to get it back up and running for everyone,” adding that it had no “evidence of security breach or hack.”

Some Twitter users appeared to be experiencing issues Thursday, with many unable to reload their home timeline or post tweets to the social platform.

Twitter said on its status website that it was investigating an “unresolved incident” caused by irregularities found in Twitter’s application programming interfaces.”

Realising this issue yesterday, @TwitterSupport tweets:

“Twitter has been down for many of you and we’re working to get it back up and running for everyone. We had some trouble with our internal systems and don’t have any evidence of a security breach or hack.”

However people are able to send and receive DMs while have trouble refreshing their timeline and tweets on the social platform Twitter.

Twitter Down: Nigeria

Yes. Twitter Down in Nigeria as well. It is believed that Twitter went down in Nigeria after the #endSARS hashtag started Trending on it.

What’s SARS?

SARS opens up to be SPECIAL ANTI ROBBERY SQUAD which is a unit of Nigerian Police Force.

The social movement started on Twitter as #endSARS to ban the operation of SARS.

Nigerians have showed us stories, videos and photos of how the members of SARS are involved in ungodly crimes like kidnapping, murder, rape, threats, torture, asserts without warrents, humiliation, extrajudicial killings etc.

“SARS have been allegedly accused of several acts of human rights violations, illegal “stop and search”, illegal arrest and detention, extrajudicial killings, sexual harassment of women and brutalizing many young Nigerians. The human rights abuses of SARS are seen in trending videos on social media.”– Wikipedia

The burns were not new. However they were refreshed when a video of a SARS officer went viral in which they shot a Nigerian man in front of Wetland Hotel Ughelli, Delta state on 3rd October 2020 (Saturday) and take the vehicle with them.

On October 8, Nationwide protest started in Nigeria to end SARS as a Social Media Campaign #endSARS.

the End SARS protests were still ongoing with young people in different parts of Nigeria deepening the demands to change and show accountability in police operations on 14 October 2020.

The scenes are hard to watch. To experience, don’t even ask!

Twitter Down? Rather fun!

Well yes. This might sound disfunctional but people have come up with their own ways to stay happy amidst this lockdown and Twitter Down as well. They’ve started sharing and making memes about it.

Below are a few!

that’s how I look right now.

Jokes apart. Times are rather difficult for everyone. Twitter Down might just be one phase which well overcome soon( I mean as soon as twitter restores it’s severs.).
